We have difficult news to share today. Over the weekend, at least 50
Christians were killed in southern Nigeria as they gathered in their church
to celebrate Pentecost.

I’ve told you before that, according to our research for the World Watch
List, Nigeria is the deadliest country for Christians—on average, every two
hours, a Nigerian Christian dies for their faith. A heinous attack like
this one reinforces that truth.

I know that these days, we hear about violence every day. But I want to
humbly ask you: Please don’t become desensitized or numb to what’s
happening in Nigeria and our world.

*Each person lost in these attacks was someone’s parent, child, wife,
husband, grandmother, grandfather or beloved friend. *

And as their global family, we are called to walk with our grieving sisters
and brothers. The writer of Hebrews tells us:

*Remember… those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering*
(Heb. 13:3).
