Below is the latest newsletter from Frank and Cindy Sindler. They are missionaries to the West Africa Region that St. Elmo Presbyterian Church supports. There is lots of information about their work and also some challenges and prayer requests. At the end of the newsletter, there is a link if you wish to individually support them as well.

> It seems there is a sort of fatigue that is setting in as the pandemic stretches on. It is increasingly tiring for many as we have waited for a new normal to return. And as normal remains elusive we continue to try to figure out how to connect personally, how to do life in general, and how to do ministry.
>
> We are all adapting and learning to adapt. But we need perseverance now more than ever. Most of us have begun to use virtual means things like Zoom etc. Last summer, for instance, we hosted a first ever virtual missions trip in West Africa. Now with travel restrictions continuing we are now in the process of setting up remote learning centers in eight countries in West Africa. This will allow us to continue training for churches in Africa. We are also realizing even when normal returns it can allow us to greatly expand our efforts.
>
> In February our organization will host the first broad mission wide virtual missions conference. Since you don't have to travel and there is no charge or cost other than taking the time to participate this event will be a great opportunity to engage with world missions for many. We are including details on registration and the event to encourage as many as can to participate. We were really surprised by the turnout for that first virtual missions trip and we hope we see the same sort of participation in this virtual missions conference.

> disciples of Christ is ever before us. Now more than
> ever, we witness His hand at work and celebrate the
> assurance that His story continues. You’ll hear stories from around the world, experience workshops that will challenge your views on missions, and catch a glimpse into the future as we anticipate how God will grow His kingdom through the work of the Presbyterian Church in America and our partners. Individuals, groups, and churches welcome.

> Our greatest need is for opening new pastoral training programs. We have already started a program in Sierra Leone but need funds urgently for it. We actually have two locations already with students and are working on scheduling courses to be done remotely until travel is possible. We have matching funds for a limited time to help get this new program started. We need to raise $19,500 for this. We have a 1:2 matching grant where for every $10 given $5 will be matched to it. So we will need to raise about $13,300 to have the total $20,000 needed. This is only available for the next couple of months. So please consider giving to this now while the matching funds will increase your giving. The link for the project is:

> Prayer
> In human affairs, we accomplish everything through prayer. What has been properly arranged, we keep in order, what has gone amiss we improve or change, what we cannot change and improve we bear, overcoming all trouble and sustaining all by prayer. Against such forces there is no help but prayer.
